Crete Rx™ Stain Defense by Betco is a professional penetrating sealer designed to protect porous concrete surfaces from stains and etching. Rather than forming a conventional topical coating, its penetrating polymers fill the pores of the concrete and create a uniform protective layer while maintaining the surface's natural appearance.

Stain Defense is part of Betco's Crete Rx™ Honing & Polishing System, where it is used after concrete has been honed, densified, and polished to provide ongoing stain and etch protection.

Product Specifications

Betco currently lists 167205-00 as the 5-gallon pail configuration and specifies coverage of approximately 4,000 sq. ft. per gallon.

Directions for Use

First clean the entire area with Betco Crete Rx DensiClean and allow the concrete to dry completely. Apply Stain Defense with a microfiber flat mop at approximately 3,500–4,000 sq. ft. per gallon.

Allow the product to dry to the touch for approximately 30–45 minutes, then high-speed burnish with the appropriate Crete Rx SI Burnish Pad. Allow approximately 1–2 hours of cure time before exposing the floor to full traffic.

For spot stain and etch remediation, Betco specifies approximately 1,000 sq. ft. per quart or 4,000 sq. ft. per gallon, followed by buffing with an SI Pad to blend the repaired area with the surrounding floor.

The current SDS classifies Stain Defense as not classified as hazardous under GHS, with no signal word or significant known hazard statements. Nevertheless, users should follow the current SDS and product instructions for proper handling and application.
